QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED

What is Kaiju Go!?
Kaiju Go! is a Japanese monster film, art, and toy showcase headlined by a double feature film screening. It also features guest artists and toy vendors from the kaiju, tokusatsu, and designer toy worlds.

What does my general admission ticket cover?
The admission includes access to both Godzilla feature films in the main theater and access to all of the vendors.

What does my VIP ticket cover?
The VIP ticket includes everything that the general admission ticket does with the added bonuses of early admission (1 hour early), a special Ultraman '66 screening in the upstairs theater, a Q&A session with special guests Mark and Max Nagata, and an event-exclusive decal done by IDW cover artist John Yurcaba.

What time does the event start and end?
The doors open at 2pm for VIP ticket holders and 3pm for general admission. The double feature will begin around 7pm. For a full schedule, please check out the Event page. The event will end at the conclusion of the second film.

Are there in-and-out privileges?
Yes. If you have a valid ticket, you will be able to leave and re-enter.

Will there be a bar?
Yes. The Texas Theatre bar is superb - read about it here. Also, you can bring your beer/wine/drinks  from the bar into the theater during the show - but please bring back all glassware and trash to the bar when done!

What about food?
The Texas Theatre's bar includes standard concession items (popcorn, candy, bagel dogs, etc.), however, the acclaimed food truck - SUSHI DOJO - will be on site from 4:30 - 9:30. In addition, there are many restaurants within a few blocks of the venue. Dining options include Gonzalez Tex-Mex, Rosi's Salvadorian Fusion Cuisine, Trompo, The Island Spot, Casa del Vegano, Ocho Latin Cuisine, Xaman Cafe, Charco Broiler Steakhouse, Margarita's, El Padrino, Morazan Restaurant & Bakery, Tortas Insurgentes, and many more!

Will the films be dubbed or subtitled?
The films will be in their original Japanese language and subtitled in English.

Are children allowed?
Yes. Similar to any movie theater experience, we ask that all guests - adults and children - be respectful so that all can enjoy the film. If this is not possible, you will be asked to leave the theater.

Is the Texas Theatre wheelchair accessible?
Yes, both the downstairs and upstairs theaters are wheelchair accessible. For full details, visit the Texas Theatre's FAQ page. The only area that is not wheelchair accessible is an upstairs room that will house 1-2 vendors.

Is seating assigned?
Seating is open and is first come, first served.

When will the vendor space be open?
Vendors will be open at 2pm for VIP ticket holders and 3pm for general admission. Unlike the previous Kaiju Go! event, vendors will be closed at the start of the first Godzilla film (approximately 7pm).

Can I be a vendor/artist?
Due to limited space, our vendor room is full for 2024.

Will the toy vendors accept credit cards?
Each vendor decides what forms of payment that they will accept. However, most now accept credit cards (via Square), PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle as non-cash options.

What should I expect in the Q&A session?
Our two amazing special guests - Mark & Max Nagata - will be interviewed by Collect All Monsters contributor, Ryan Wilhelm, as part of the VIP ticket page. The Nagatas will talk about life as artists, their unique histories with Ultraman, Godzilla, and the sofubi world, and a litany of other kaiju-related topics. The hope is to have 15 minutes for open audience Q&A - but that could increase/decrease based on time.

What is the special Ultraman '66 screening?
More details to follow, however, this unique presentation will include original Ultraman (1966) episodes, officially provided by Tsuburaya Productions. You won't want to miss it!

Where do we park?
The theatre’s free parking lot is located at the southeast corner of Centre St. and Madison Ave., adjacent to the Bank of Texas. Additional metered parking is available long Jefferson Blvd. Meters are active from 7am-4pm, seven days a week, at 25 cents an hour. They can be paid by coins or mobile app. For a Google map of the parking options, click here.
